Wholesale Inventories in the US Increased Below Expectations
Wholesale inventories in the US rose by 0.1% on a monthly basis in April, falling short of expectations.
The US Department of Commerce released the data for wholesale inventories and sales for April. According to the data, wholesale inventories increased by 0.1% from the previous month, reaching $895.8 billion in April.
Wholesale inventories, which were expected to rise by 0.2% in April, had decreased by 0.5% in March.
Compared to the same period last year, inventories in April decreased by 1.7%.
During the same period, wholesale sales in the country increased by 0.1% from the previous month, reaching $663.8 billion.
Wholesale sales had decreased by 1.3% in March. On an annual basis, wholesale sales in April increased by 1.4%.
