Export climate index declined from 1-year high in June
The Istanbul Chamber of Industry Turkish Manufacturing Sector Export Climate Index remained above the threshold of 50.0 in June, indicating that demand conditions in Turkish export markets improved on a monthly basis for the sixth consecutive month. The index rose to 52.8 in May, the highest level since April 2023.
The results of the June 2024 period of the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) Turkey Manufacturing Sector Export Climate Index, which measures the operating conditions in the main export markets of the Turkish manufacturing sector, were announced.
The Istanbul Chamber of Industry Turkish Manufacturing Sector Export Climate Index remained above the threshold value of 50.0 in June, indicating that demand conditions in Turkish export markets improved on a monthly basis for the sixth consecutive month. However, the index fell from 52.8 in May to 51.6 in June, the lowest level since March, indicating that the strengthening in the export climate lost momentum. All figures above the threshold value of 50.0 indicate an improvement in the export climate, while values below 50.0 indicate a deterioration.
