Çelik announces pension increase
AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik made a statement after his party’s FMC meeting and said, “An issue regarding the issue of pensioners is being worked on. The work continues, no decision has been made. It will continue today and tomorrow.”
AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik gave information on pensions in his statements, where he also answered questions after his party’s FMC meeting.
Upon a question about the lowest pension, Çelik said, “It is being worked on. The study continues. No decision has been made yet. It is out of the question for us to make an assessment whether it will reach this time. We will continue to stand by all segments of our society, with the protection of the OVP as the basis.”
With the announcement of the six-month inflation difference, the raise table of millions of civil servants and pensioners became clear, and the raise that pensioners would receive was calculated as 24.73 percent.
However, millions of pensioners did not receive an increase due to the fact that the increases were made to the root pension, not the pension received by the pensioner.
For example, the salary of a pensioner with a root salary of 8 thousand liras became 9 thousand 978 liras with an increase of 24.73 percent. His salary was completed to 10 thousand liras. Since he had already received 10 thousand liras since January, there was no increase in his salary.
