Turksat 6A launched into space
Türkiye’s domestic and national communication satellite Türksat 6A was launched into space.
Türkiye’s first domestic and national communication satellite, Turksat 6A, started its space journey from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, USA, at 02:30 Turkish time.
The ceremony held at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida for the launch of Turksat 6A was attended by Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure; Haluk Görgün, Presidential Defense Industry Chairman; Hasan Hüseyin Ertok, General Manager of Turksat; Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, President of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK); Mehmet Demiroğlu, General Manager of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI); Ahmet Akyol, General Manager of ASELSAN; Cüneyd Fırat, General Manager of CTECH; and other officials.
Türksat 6A, the first domestic and national satellite developed by Turkish engineers, was launched into space from Launch Complex 40 by Space X’s Falcon 9 rocket at 02.30 am Turkish time.
The launch operation, which was postponed several times due to adverse weather conditions, was delayed.
