Simsek: More foreign resources will be attracted to the startup ecosystem
Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek stated that they will introduce a new financing instrument to the capital markets and said, “Our venture capital investment funds will now be able to invest in venture capital companies established abroad, more than half of whose investments are in Turkey.”
Minister Şimşek made an assessment to AA correspondent regarding the new regulation to be made in the field of venture capital.
Stating that some amendments will be made in the venture capital investment fund legislation, Şimşek said that they have implemented the decisions taken within the scope of the action plan of the Investment Environment Improvement Coordination Board in order to facilitate foreign investors to invest in Turkey and to develop cooperation with them.
Regarding the regulation to be made, Şimşek said, “Our venture capital investment funds will now be able to invest in venture companies established abroad, with more than half of their investments in Turkey. We are paving the way for investment in a venture company that has not yet been established with contracts that give the right to become a partner in the future.”
