Simsek: July saw the highest monthly portfolio inflow in 10 years
Commenting on the balance of payments statistics, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek said, “While the highest monthly portfolio inflow in 10 years was realized in July, the total inflow in the last one year was 34.5 billion dollars.”
Evaluating the balance of payments data on his social media account, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek said, “Capital inflows (including net errors and omissions excluding reserves) reached 43.3 billion dollars in the last year thanks to the confidence in the program we put into practice.”
Stating that while the highest monthly portfolio inflow in 10 years was realized in July, the total inflow in the last one year was 34.5 billion dollars, Şimşek said, “The share of non-residents in the government domestic debt securities stock, which declined to 0.5 percent last year, increased to 8.7 percent in July.
The external debt rollover ratios of the banking and real sectors, including bonds, were 97 percent and 73 percent in the first five months of last year. In July, annualized ratios rose to 162 percent and 121 percent, respectively.”
