Highest monthly inflation in Istanbul in 5 months

According to ITO data, retail prices increased by 3.9 percent in September, while the annual increase was recorded at 59.18 percent.
Istanbul Wage Earning Index, which measures retail price movements in Istanbul, increased by 59.18 percent in September compared to the same period of the previous year. The index had recorded an annual increase of 61.57 percent in August.
Wholesale Price Index increased by 4.67 percent on a monthly basis and 47.89 percent on an annual basis in September. In September 2024, retail prices increased by 13.24 percent in the culture, education and entertainment expenditures group, 6.67 percent in the clothing expenditures group, 4.18 percent in the housing expenditures group, 3.62 percent in the household goods expenditures group and 2.63 percent in the food expenditures group compared to the previous month.
